April 1 - National Poetry Month 2016

Following the lead of Amy Ludwig VanDerwater of The Poem Farm, I am writing a poem a day during the month of April.

Each poem will be inspired by the previous day's post at Wonderopolis.

Today I'm using a poetic form called a haiku.

Coral Reefs

beautiful colors
invertebrate animals
on the ocean floor

tentacles reaching
capturing food around them
thousands of creatures

twenty-five million
years growing on Earth’s surface
largest living structure
