April 7: National Poetry Month

Following the lead of Amy Ludwig VanDerwater of The Poem Farm, I am writing a poem a day during the month of April.

Each poem will be inspired by the previous day's post at Wonderopolis.

Wondering for April 6: How sweet is honeysuckle?

Today's poem:

Hummingbirds, in search
Of satisfying
Nectar,
Extract the juice from honeysuckle springing up in
Your yard. Its sweet
Scent may lure
Unsuspecting
Children to pick and
Kiss the blooms,
Lips lingering to
Enjoy the taste of spring.
